Apple watch series 8, watch pro, and se 2 latest tidbits ahead of iphone 14 event
In two days, Apple will announce Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Pro, and Apple Watch SE 2. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously shared an update on these new watches in his Power On newsletter. iPhone 14 event on September 7th.
After many rumors swirling about these three watches this year, Gurman brings the latest updates to his Apple Watch Series 8 line. Here's what you need to know:
- Apple Watch Series 8: The watch brings a new body temperature sensor and features for fertility-related female health, as previously mentioned;
- Apple Watch SE 2 : This watch keeps the same look and feel. It's a first-generation watch, but we're seeing an upgrade from the S5 chip to the S8 chip. It shares many similarities with the S6 and S7 processors.
With a "significantly larger display", it will feature a redesigned watch face, more health and fitness metrics, a larger battery, and a rumored low-power mode.
As for the Apple Watch Pro, the Bloomberg reporter has the most information. Along with the S8 chip, body temperature sensor, and women's health features, this rugged high-end watch will be geared towards "intensive athletes like mountain bikers, hikers, etc. long distances and marathons."

The device will appeal to those who have coveted equally great Garmin offerings. Apple has been working on this new watch for a while. (…) I expect this watch to cost at least $900 to $1,000, surpassing the current Apple Watch version. For comparison, high-end Garmin watches range in price from $1,000 to $1,500. Amazfit also competes in this category, although often at a lower price point.
